25th December 2011 Hiking - Walking: Levington Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 10 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: Distance Covered: What a top day !!! this is the first year in 12 that we have been home for Christmas as we are usually skiing !!! so we decided to do something abit differant before the presants,family,eating too much etc and got up early and went to Levington Marina to watch the sunrise :) We were lucky and got a glimpse through the clouds we then spent the next two hours walking and saw our nine deer in a field again and 30 differant birds :) It is a brilliant walk as it covers lots of differant habitats,river,estuary,shore,lake,woods and fields so a big variety.The highlights were five swans flying low over us from the lake to the estuary and at least a hundred cormorants flying out of their overnight roast in the trees !!! and Mag was lucky enough to see two kingfishers !!! but I missed them both :( and we were still home by 10:15 for the usual Christmas fun and games :) My only disappointment was I would have loved to have windsurfed in the river but just didn't have enough time and my beloved longboard is being repaired !!!!
